ArtScience Museum presents the largest collection of deep-sea animals ever displayed. Discover the remarkable beauty of abyssal life in this immersive environment of extremely rare specimens, full-colour photographs and exclusive film footage. Embark on a breathtaking journey through the oceanic depths and learn about the complexity of deep-sea life and the need to protect this fragile and largely unknown world.
The deep sea is Earth’s largest reservoir of life but has remained mostly uncharted by humans, with only five percent of the sea-floor mapped. Unprecedented in its scope, The Deep exhibition features more than 40 perfectly preserved specimens, accompanied by mysterious and mesmeric images of captivating sea fauna, living fossils and ethereal bioluminescent creatures, many photographed for the very first time.
The Deep is presented in a unique, pitch–black environment, virtually immersing you onto the realm of the deep sea. It will unfold to reveal the different depths of the sea, such as life in the mid-water and life on the ocean floor through different themed zones.
